A Contributor Day at WordCamp Kolhapur 2025 is scheduled for 11th January, and it’s time to contribute back! Anyone from tech or non-tech backgrounds (just WordPress enthusiasts!) can join contributor day.
But What’s Contributor Day?
Contributor Day is where all of us—coders, content writers/bloggers, marketers, translators, and many more come together and contribute to WordPress. You’ll get a chance to work with core contributors, learn new things, and a chance to network with fellow teammates.

It’s my first time, can I join?
Yes of course. You don’t need to be an expert coder. On Contributor days, all people are divided into different teams (like Design, Documentation Team, Translations Team aka Polygot etc.) You can contribute to any team of your choice. The WordPress community is very welcoming and inclusive. Everyone has to just follow code conducts guidelines and yeah, you’re good to go! Don’t forget to smile in front of the camera & to enjoy delicious snacks!

- Core Team: Work on the backbone of WordPress– Code, Testing, and Documentation.
- Design Team: For UI/UX Designers, who help in revamping & design new features.
- Polyglots Team: Help translate WordPress Updates, Themes or plugins.
- Support Team: Help fellow WordPress lovers with their problems(like technical errors on the site, themes or plugins).
- Documentation Team: Make sure WordPress.org users have everything explained in simple language.
- Photos Team: Add photos to WordPress Photo Directory, an open-source initiative to release photos you clicked into the public domain for the benefit of all.
- Themes/Plugins Review Team: Ensure themes and plugins are ready for prime time.
- Community Team: Hel[ps in organizing WordCamps, local meetups and workshops!
- Meta Team: Work on the backend websites that make WordPress.org.
What do you need to do?
- Buy a Ticket, if you haven’t already!
- Sign up to reserve your spot.
- Bring your Laptop and charger! Make sure it’s fully charged, in case we run into trouble.
- Don’t forget your password at your home/hotel!
WordPress gave us roti, kapda, makaan (Food, clothes & home!) and an identity. Since its inception, WordPress has been an open-source project and today it keeps 43% of the web running smoothly!
